About the role#
This co-op position supports the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team in Avon, Ohio. You will work on-site to help maintain safety standards and environmental compliance for our manufacturing operations. The role involves a mix of data analysis, program development, and field work to support our site safety goals.
What you'll do#
- Create and implement programs to improve employee safety, ergonomics, and emergency response.
- Join new equipment launch teams to complete hazard analyses, machine guarding assessments, and waste evaluations.
- Investigate workplace injuries, environmental incidents, and property loss events to help find resolutions.
- Track, analyze, and report on safety and sustainability metrics.
- Participate in ISO14001 implementation and internal auditing teams.
- Help ensure the site meets OSHA and EPA requirements through compliance audits.
- Design training materials and communication tools to promote safety awareness across the plant.
- Coordinate with engineering and plant personnel, with occasional travel required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Health Administration, or Industrial Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with statistical tools is preferred.
- Clear written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
