About the role#
As a Mechanical Intern, you will work within a multi-discipline team to design and detail HVAC and piping systems. You will support licensed mechanical engineers across all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. This role focuses on technical documentation and design tasks that contribute to the functionality and comfort of the built environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform design calculations and prepare technical reports.
- Produce drawing sets including site plans, HVAC and piping plans, controls diagrams, schematics, and schedules.
- Create Revit models and perform detailing.
- Coordinate designs with mechanical designers and other disciplines.
- Assist with site investigations, observations, and construction contract administration.
- Attend internal and client meetings.
- Support marketing and business development activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited degree program for Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis.
- Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to working as an active team member.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP is preferred.
- Experience with load, system sizing, or energy modeling software is a plus.
- Knowledge of other building systems.
- Demonstrated leadership or active involvement in campus or community extracurricular activities.
