About the role#
As a Summer 2027 Electrical Intern at LEO A DALY, you will contribute to the design and detailing of electrical engineering solutions. You will work within a multi-discipline team under the direct supervision of licensed electrical engineers. Your tasks will involve supporting project phases through technical documentation, design calculations, and the production of drawing sets such as lighting, power, and site plans.
What you'll do#
- Design and specify project-appropriate electrical engineering requirements.
- Coordinate designs with electrical designers and other disciplines.
- Perform Revit modeling and detailing.
- Assist with site investigations and observations.
- Prepare narratives, reports, hand and computer calculations, and specification documents.
- Attend internal and client meetings.
- Support construction contract administration and business development activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program with an electrical/lighting emphasis.
- Proficiency with Revit MEP is preferred.
- Experience with software such as Visual, AGi32, ElumTools, DIVA for Rhino, SKM PowerTools, or COMcheck is a plus.
- Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of other building systems.
- A positive attitude and willingness to participate in a multi-discipline team.
- Demonstrated leadership in campus or community extracurricular activities is preferred.
