About the role#
LAPORTE is looking for an intern in building design to join our structure team. You will prepare and update structural plans and details for industrial projects. Working alongside engineers and technicians, you will contribute to 3D modeling and the creation of technical documents for our ongoing projects.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and update structural plans and details using AutoCAD and Revit based on sketches and models.
- Participate in 3D modeling for industrial buildings and installations.
- Produce drawings for structural elements like steel and concrete structures, foundations, mezzanines, walkways, and equipment supports.
- Incorporate corrections and modifications requested by the engineering and technical team.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project-related technical documents.
- Ensure all drawings meet company standards for quality and design.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, including process, mechanical, electrical, and building teams.
- Join experienced team members for site visits or technical surveys when necessary.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an AEC program in building design or an equivalent field.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Interest in structural design and industrial projects.
- Attention to detail, rigor, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Curiosity, autonomy, and a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication skills in French.
