About the role#
As an Investment Management Intern, you will work with the Asset Management or Acquisitions team. You will compile and analyze financial data for the company's existing portfolio. Your work will support the firm's investment decisions. This is a full-time, on-site position running from June 1, 2027, through August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Work with the Asset Management department to evaluate, execute, and dispose of student housing and multifamily properties.
- Build and update financial models for the underwriting of institutional-quality assets.
- Monitor and compile economic data across different markets.
- Support debt and equity transactions, including refinancings, recapitalizations, and new placements.
- Use Excel to track asset and portfolio-level performance metrics like IRR, income growth, and return on investment.
- Prepare reporting materials such as rent rolls, budget forecasts, and rate plans.
- Gather rent and sales comparables to assist the underwriting process.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- An excellent academic record and a clear interest in real estate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- A solid understanding of financial concepts.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
