About the role#
La Caisse is looking for a student to join the economic analysis team for a 4 or 8 month internship starting in May 2027. You will support the team in regular activities and help create tools to improve the quality of economic analysis. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Montreal.
What you'll do#
- Build tools to track and analyze economic and financial conditions.
- Improve analytical processes and models used for economic and financial forecasting.
- Assist the team with economic research projects that support various investment groups.
- Prepare economic and financial presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Collect data, update documents, and create charts for team reports.
What you'll need#
- University studies in economics, finance, or a related field.
- A strong interest in econometrics or macroeconomics.
- Basic knowledge of financial markets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
- Familiarity with AI tools like Copilot.
- Rigor, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages like Matlab, VBA, Python, SQL, or R is an asset.
- Experience with Eviews or Bloomberg is an asset.
