About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will focus on designing and developing electrical systems for military and commercial aircraft and ground stations. You will work on various tasks across multiple aircraft platforms, gaining hands-on experience with electrical and electronic equipment integration.
What you'll do#
- Create system wiring diagrams, control panels, and circuit breaker panels using CAD tools.
- Research and prepare engineering drawings.
- Coordinate design activities with Manufacturing, Production, and Systems Engineering to meet project requirements while managing costs.
- Develop Avionics Systems, RF, LAN, Data Processing, and Power Distribution Systems.
- Perform electrical loads analysis and develop load shedding schemes.
- Support the testing and integration of systems directly on aircraft.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor, master, or PhD program for Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous internship, co-op, or entry-level experience in electrical engineering.
- Proficiency with CAD and PLM software, specifically NX and Teamcenter.
- Familiarity with Siemens Capital software and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of basic aircraft systems and systems integration.
- Ability to work in aircraft hangar environments, travel to and from flight lines, and board or exit aircraft.
- A willingness to travel as required.

- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Schedule: 4/10 work week (four 10-hour days).
- Status: Paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
