About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will work on the design and integration of systems for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. You will participate in all phases of the product design cycle, from initial concept development and detail design to manufacturing and aircraft installation. This role involves working alongside mechanical designers to support both primary and secondary aircraft structures.
What you'll do#
- Design aircraft structures following military and commercial standards.
- Create and release engineering drawings while meeting schedule and budget requirements.
- Collaborate with production and manufacturing teams to interpret designs.
- Generate bids for customer-requested change orders and new project pursuits.
- Document designs and participate in reviews with peers, management, and customers.
- Process engineering change orders as needed.
- Partner with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience using 3D CAD software to build solid models and 2D detail, assembly, and installation drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles for aircraft components and structures.
- Experience applying engineering theory and design criteria to complex tasks.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
