About the role#
This is a 16 month co-op position, with some 12 month opportunities available. You will help maintain production inventory levels and develop solutions to prevent undesirable growth in stock. You will investigate inventory anomalies and work with departments across the organization to create and execute mitigation plans. This role requires you to track key performance indicators, support continuous improvement initiatives, and perform data analysis.
What you'll do#
- Identify opportunities to avoid or reduce inventory.
- Collaborate with various departments to drive inventory reduction.
- Generate, manage, and control inventory metric reporting.
- Measure specific inventory categories against key metrics.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to improve performance.
- Manage obsolete inventory through sales, rework, or scrap.
- Assist in forecasting appropriate stock levels.
- Manage and reduce excess inventory relative to MRP requirements.
- Participate on inventory-focused project teams.
- Evaluate changes in demand and configurations as they relate to overall and stranded inventory.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university business program, such as Business Administration, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong understanding of inventory and production control processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and general data analysis capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A results-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Ability to learn and grow in a busy environment.
- SQL knowledge is considered an asset.
