About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Huntsville, Alabama. The role follows a 9/80 work schedule, meaning you work 80 hours over 9 days and have every other Friday off. This position is open on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Support mechanical engineering tasks for new product development.
- Provide factory support for existing products.
- Collaborate with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation.
- Manage and process engineering change orders (ECOs).
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or PhD program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to apply principles of Structural Mechanics to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities.
- Familiarity with finite element methods, fatigue, and damage tolerance principles.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Exposure to CAD or FEA tools, or experience in the design or analysis of electronic systems, structures, and mechanisms is preferred.
