About the role#
L3Harris Technologies is hiring an Intern Structural Engineer for the Aeronautical Systems Engineering team. This role involves performing structural analysis on aircraft platforms to support various modifications. You will work on-site in Greenville, Texas, during the Summer and Fall 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Perform structural analysis of aircraft components using classical methods.
- Create finite element models to predict internal loads, displacements, and stresses.
- Collaborate with Design Engineers to substantiate aircraft modifications and installations.
- Generate free body diagrams and calculate internal loads and stresses.
- Document your analysis in formal reports to demonstrate compliance with airworthiness requirements.
- Develop structural tests and process results to establish allowable strength data.
- Manage your tasks to stay within the assigned scope, budget, and schedule.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
Location & details#
- Location: Greenville, Texas.
- Schedule: 9/80 work schedule, which includes 80 hours over 9 days with every other Friday off.
- Term: June 2027 through December 2027.
- Status: This is a paid, full-time internship. Sponsorship is not available.
