About the role#
Kiewit is hiring a Structural Design Intern for our Industrial and Water Engineering group in Lenexa, Kansas. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site as part of a team focused on industrial infrastructure projects, helping to maintain and improve our design standards and tools.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with team members to review and exchange project information.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop BIM models for steel structures and foundations.
- Create plans, drawings, and details using Building Information Modeling software.
- Assist in the development of department tools and design standards.
What you'll need#
- You are pursuing an Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Design & Drafting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in computer-aided drafting programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, or NavisWorks.
- Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and other disciplines.
- Familiarity with spreadsheets, databases, and electronic communication tools.
