About the role#
The Electrical Construction Management Internship provides hands-on field experience on large commercial construction projects. You will work under the supervision of an Area Supervisor or Superintendent to learn construction methods, materials, and project sequences. This role focuses on coordinating information to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and up to quality standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist in managing and developing construction schedules.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite.
- Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews.
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews and training sessions.
- Monitor project cost control, quality, productivity, and safety.
- Maintain project records, including daily reports, timesheets, and material deliveries.
- Support field surveying, work layout, and subcontractor operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore or junior in a four-year bachelor's degree program.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
- Basic knowledge of commercial building construction activities.
- Ability to obtain a Texas Electrical Apprentice License.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Ability to relocate to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the duration of the program.
