About the role#
Cummings Electrical is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work directly with experienced electrical engineers to gain practical experience in electrical construction. This role is designed to provide the real-world exposure necessary to prepare for the PE exam.
What you'll do#
- Perform electrical design tasks using AutoCAD.
- Conduct short-circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies using SKM Power Tools.
- Use Excel to perform hand calculations to verify program results.
- Work primarily in an office setting, though you may occasionally visit job sites or off-site events.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years of credit toward a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to commit to 20-40 hours per week.
- You must reside in the DFW area or be able to relocate and secure your own housing.
- A motivated approach to applying academic training to design work.
