About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering intern to join our team in Huntsville. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site. You will contribute to both new product development and the ongoing support of existing products in our factory.
What you'll do#
- Support mechanical engineering tasks for new and existing projects.
- Collaborate with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation.
- Create and process engineering change orders (ECOs) as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to apply structural mechanics principles to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities.
- Familiarity with finite element methods, fatigue, and damage tolerance principles.
- Exposure to CAD or FEA tools, or experience in the design or analysis of electronic systems, structures, and mechanisms is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Huntsville, Alabama.
- Work schedule: 9/80 schedule, which includes 80 hours worked over 9 days with every other Friday off.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
