About the role#
Kwik Trip, Inc. is seeking an Operations Maintenance Intern to join our team in La Crosse. This is a paid, part-time position designed for students who want to gain hands-on experience with modern automated process systems. You will work with our maintenance division to support daily operations and ensure our facilities run efficiently. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your classes and the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role after the internship.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and troubleshoot automated process systems.
- Perform preventative and emergency maintenance tasks.
- Inspect equipment and facilities on a regular basis.
- Communicate with operators and management to ensure productivity.
- Coordinate with vendors for necessary equipment repairs.
- Work safely while following food safety and regulatory standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a first or second year student in a Technical College program such as Electro-mechanical, Automation, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, or HVAC.
- Strong mechanical skills and a working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver license with a good driving record.
- Physical ability to stand or walk for up to 10 hours, and lift up to 80 pounds occasionally.

- Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Up to 25 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
