About the role#
As a Pharmacist Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in providing exceptional service to our customers. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure accurate medication dispensing and patient care while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. This is a part-time position based in Portland, Oregon.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and assist customers with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient information and interpret prescriptions for fill or refill.
- Dispense medications and bag prescriptions for customer delivery.
- Coordinate with prescribers and insurance companies to resolve authorization or coverage issues.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by checking, stocking, and returning medication bottles.
- Maintain department cleanliness and report any safety risks or incidents to management.
- Assist customers of all needs, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a United States school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skills to manage conflict in a calm and nonconfrontational manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding all business and patient information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
- Capacity to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
