About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in providing care to patients and managing daily operations. This role focuses on clinical services, prescription processing, and inventory management within a retail setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service by assisting patients with product selection and answering questions in person or over the phone.
- Process and fill prescriptions using the pharmacy computer system for data entry and third-party adjudication.
- Handle pharmacy tasks including pulling products, counting and labeling prescriptions, and managing the Will Call station.
- Manage inventory by updating balances on hand, ordering products, and checking in orders.
- Perform third-party functions and process vendor charge backs, transfers, or salvage.
- Assist with clinical services, including health screenings and immunizations, under the guidance of a pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school and a state-specific Pharmacy Intern License.
- Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations and knowledge of medical terminology, brand and generic drug names, and dosage forms.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and pharmacy care services.
- Strong communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Dependability, a positive attitude, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Professional appearance and the ability to provide empathetic customer service.
- Basic math skills and neat, legible penmanship.
- Familiarity with MTM platforms, MP6, and third-party billing processes.
