About the role#
KPMG US is seeking an Advisory Intern for the Risk Services - Technology practice. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will support client engagements focused on cybersecurity and technology risk while working alongside experienced teams to identify and address complex business challenges.
What you'll do#
- Support the delivery of cybersecurity and technology risk client engagements.
- Identify and remediate complex business and technology challenges.
- Research and stay updated on emerging technology risks and industry best practices.
- Provide support in areas including identity and access management, GRC, and infrastructure security.
- Assist with IT risk assessments, data protection, privacy impact assessments, and information governance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align risk analysis with technology strategies.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports and presentations on technology risks and recommended solutions.
- Uphold integrity and professionalism in all client and internal interactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Analytics, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, IT, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
- A current or most recent GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Fluency with artificial intelligence concepts and tools.
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques.
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills.
- Ability to leverage common business technologies like MS Office and AI.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Modality: The role may be performed on-site, remotely, or in a hybrid capacity depending on business needs.
- Requirements: You must reside within a commutable distance of the office and be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
