About the role#
As a Tax Intern, you will join the KPMG Tax practice to support a variety of clients, including multinational enterprises, partnerships, and corporations. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to handle tax compliance, advising, and planning. This role offers exposure to complex business challenges and allows you to build skills in tax technology and data analytics.
What you'll do#
- Perform tax-related tasks including compliance, advising, and planning.
- Create tax return work papers and prepare tax returns.
- Assist multi-state companies with local tax issues and controversies.
- Advise multinational enterprises on business decisions, such as supply chain optimization and entity choice.
- Participate in data analytics assignments using firm technology.
- Coordinate with offshore resources to support client engagements.
- Perform tax due diligence to identify exposures and opportunities.
- Develop capabilities in technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering.
- Completion of at least one college-level accounting course.
- Pursuit of educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state where the office is located.
- Must have additional academic credits to complete toward your degree or CPA eligibility following the internship.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong technical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel and work on-site at client premises when required.
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
