About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Plano, Texas. You will work alongside tax professionals to support multi-state companies with their tax needs. This role involves direct interaction with clients and tax authorities to identify savings opportunities and manage tax controversies.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings opportunities for multi-state clients.
- Assist with tax controversies by preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare formal protests and draft technical memoranda on tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation, research complex issues, and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the specific practice.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work well in both independent and team settings.
- A valid driver’s license.
