About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in New Orleans. You will work alongside tax experts to help multi-state companies identify tax savings and manage tax controversies. This role involves direct interaction with clients and tax authorities, requiring you to handle data and research technical tax issues.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings opportunities for multi-state clients.
- Assist with state and local tax controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients during hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare protests and draft technical memoranda on tax questions.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Your anticipated graduation date is within two to three years.
- Minimum Overall and Major GPA of 2.8.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and within a team.
- A valid driver's license.
- Note that this position does not offer visa sponsorship.
