About the role#
Kodiak is looking for an AI/ML Intern to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on autonomous ground transportation technology, focusing on computer vision and foundation models to solve robotics challenges. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mountain View, California.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement machine learning algorithms using Python.
- Lead the development of deep neural networks for robotics tasks like 3D object detection, scene understanding, and self-supervised learning.
- Work with sensor technologies, including cameras, lidars, and radars, to create and refine datasets.
- Develop and manage automated AI processes to maintain efficiency in the machine learning pipeline.
- Contribute to the software ecosystem by building and iterating on autonomous system components.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing deep neural networks.
- Experience with applied AI research and Python programming.
- Ability to work with production machine learning pipelines from dataset curation to training.
- Strong written communication skills for creating clear design documentation.
