About the role#
Kodiak is looking for a Data Engineering Intern to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on real-world robotics problems, helping us build and maintain the data systems that support our autonomous trucking technology. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Mountain View.
What you'll do#
- Optimize and maintain AuroraDB, ElasticSearch, and other data stores to ensure high availability and performance.
- Build and maintain data pipelines to ensure data cleanliness and efficient ingestion.
- Develop and maintain the data platform for robotics and safety datasets.
- Evaluate and scale QuickSight and modular dashboarding frameworks to improve reporting.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Working knowledge of relational or object database design, query optimization, and schema management.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms like AWS Aurora DB and ElasticSearch.
- Familiarity with BI tools, dashboarding frameworks, or automated reporting.
- Proficiency with version control systems like Git and modern software development workflows.
