About the role#
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a Project Controls Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will support the business aspects of an assigned project, including troubleshooting project conditions, performing financial projections, and providing support to human resources. This role involves handling payroll, procurement, taxes, contract administration, and equipment rent for the project.
What you'll do#
- Assist the team with the cost control system.
- Analyze construction costs, including the production of cost and labor reports.
- Help drive compliance programs for employment, environmental, transportation, and accounting policies.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state sales/use taxes, payroll, and property taxes.
- Administer contracts, including documentation for subcontracts, material contracts, and owner progress estimates.
- Assist with project office setup and accounting data entry.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A GPA above 3.0 is preferred.
- Basic understanding of financial terms like gain, loss, and forecast.
- Basic understanding of standard cost control methods for EPC, joint venture, and lump sum projects.
- Experience with software such as Excel and Primavera is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and goals.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics, integrity, and a passion for safety.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
