Overseas Intern - Guatemala

About the role#

The Overseas Intern in Guatemala works directly with vulnerable children in schools, care centers, or residential homes. This position supports the ministry by utilizing your unique gifts and skills to serve the needs of the organization. Please note that this is an unpaid internship position for which the individual is responsible for raising funds to cover expenses.

What you'll do#

• Tutor children in English, math, language, reading, and writing.
• Lead or assist in teaching math, English, art, music, dance, or preschool classes.
• Lead sport clinics and organize spiritual groups such as Bible studies, devotions, and Vacation Bible School.
• Provide administrative assistance in ministry offices.
• Support staff with daily house chores, including cooking, cleaning, and general facility care.
• Participate in intern small group devotions and work with project teams.

What you'll need#

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience working with and providing leadership to children.
• Demonstrated emotional maturity and high emotional intelligence.
• Physical fitness to adapt to the climate, environment, and manual labor demands of the site.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Strong self-management, hygiene, and the ability to work well with others.
• Willingness to be flexible with schedules and work under authority.
• Agreement with the Kids Alive International Statement of Faith and a commitment to personal spiritual growth.
