About the role#
As a Part-Time Student Warehouse Health Engineer at the John Deere Parts Distribution Center, you will contribute to engineering projects that improve warehouse operations and business metrics. This role involves working alongside engineering staff and various departments to optimize facility performance through data analysis and design.
What you'll do#
- Provide engineering support to warehouse departments, regional distribution centers, and operations teams.
- Support engineering projects aimed at improving key business metrics.
- Use data tools to analyze warehouse processes and performance metrics.
- Design warehouse layouts to achieve optimal material flow and density.
- Assist with the integration of new systems and processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at a local accredited university.
- Pursuit of a degree in Computer, Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering (or a related STEM field).
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- A graduation date of May 2029 or later.
- Availability to work 16-20 hours per week during the academic year and 35-40 hours per week during the summer semester.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Preferred experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Minitab, Solidworks, or Creo.
- Preferred knowledge of programming languages like SQL and Python, or reporting tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
