Student Intern - Valparaiso University (Undergraduate Ministry)

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of college campus ministry. The role focuses on spiritual growth, leadership development, and gaining practical ministry experience while serving within the InterVarsity community at Valparaiso University.

What you'll do#

• Participate and engage with the campus ministry team to cast spiritual vision and direct ministry efforts.
• Contribute to the team's plans for spiritual growth and transformation on campus.
• Teach students how to love, study, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
• Promote the mission on campus by proclaiming the Gospel and guiding chapters in strategic witness.
• Model and assist students in developing a love for people of every ethnicity and culture.
• Serve as an ambassador for InterVarsity to ministry partners and churches by discussing ministry efforts and accomplishments.
• Engage with supervision and training provided by staff ministry trainers.

What you'll need#

• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement.
• Currently enrolled in a four-year or community college.
• A developing passion for evangelism.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, including initiative, self-awareness, cultural competence, communication skills, and professionalism.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain relational maturity.
• Academic background in Sociology, Psychology, or Communications is preferred.

• Work Modality: On-site.
• Employment Type: Full-time.
• Compensation: This is a paid position funded through personal fundraising. Salary is dependent on the individual's ability to secure a donor team to cover the cost of the position.
