About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of college campus ministry. The role is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year or community college who wish to develop their leadership skills, spiritual understanding, and ministry experience. Interns work as part of a team to advance the mission of InterVarsity on campus.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the campus ministry team to help cast spiritual vision and direction.
- Contribute to team plans focused on spiritual growth and transformation.
- Teach students how to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
- Promote the mission on campus by working to build witnessing communities that are broader, bolder, and more ethnically diverse.
- Proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ while assisting students and faculty in growing their appreciation for diverse cultures.
- Encourage a prayerful lifestyle among students and serve as an ambassador for the ministry to churches and partners.
- Engage with supervision and training provided by staff ministry trainers.
What you'll need#
- Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and annually affirm the InterVarsity Statement of Agreement.
- A developing passion for evangelism.
- Strong leadership qualities, including initiative, self-awareness, communication skills, professionalism, and cross-cultural competence.
- An eagerness to learn and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Current enrollment in a four-year or community college (specific standing requirements apply based on institution type).
- Relevant academic interest in fields such as Sociology, Psychology, or Human Resources.
