Student Intern - West Michigan Area (Undergrad Ministry)

About the role#

This internship focuses on learning the fundamentals of college campus ministry. It is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year or community college to develop leadership skills, spiritual understanding, and ministry experience. Interns work under the guidance of staff ministry trainers and directors to support the mission of InterVarsity.

What you'll do#

• Participate in the campus ministry team to help cast spiritual vision and direction.
• Contribute to the team’s plans for spiritual growth and transformation.
• Teach students to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
• Promote the campus mission by advancing witnessing communities that are bold, broad, and ethnically diverse.
• Proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel while helping students develop strategic thinking regarding witness to the university.
• Model and assist others in growing in their love for people of every culture and ethnicity.
• Encourage a prayerful lifestyle among students.
• Engage positively with supervision and training provided by staff leadership.
• Serve as an ambassador of the organization to ministry partners and churches.

What you'll need#

• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and annually affirm the organization's Statement of Agreement.
• A developing passion for evangelism.
• Leadership qualities including initiative, self-awareness, cross-cultural competence, professionalism, and relational maturity.
• Strong communication skills and an eagerness to learn.
• Current enrollment in a four-year or community college (specific standing requirements apply based on institution type).
