About the role#
This internship focuses on learning the fundamentals of college campus ministry within the Graduate and Faculty Ministry division. The role is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year or community college who wish to develop their leadership skills, spiritual understanding, and ministry experience. This is a part-time, on-site position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Participate and engage fully with the campus ministry team to support spiritual vision and direction.
- Contribute to the accomplishment of the campus ministry team’s plans for spiritual growth.
- Teach students to love, study, and apply Scripture to their lives.
- Promote the mission on campus by seeking opportunities to demonstrate the Gospel and assisting students and faculty in cross-cultural engagement.
- Encourage a prayerful lifestyle among students.
- Engage positively with supervision and training provided by staff ministry trainers.
- Serve as an ambassador of InterVarsity to ministry partners and churches.
What you'll need#
- Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement.
- A developing passion for evangelism.
- Demonstrated campus ministry leadership qualities, including initiative, self-awareness, and cultural awareness.
- Professionalism and an eagerness to learn.
- Academic standing requirements: Second-year students and community college students may intern at two-year or community colleges. Third-year students and higher may work at four-year or community colleges. Non-InterVarsity students at Christian colleges must have third or fourth-year standing.
- Preferred majors include Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Philosophy, Communications, Human Resources, and Business Administration.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Illinois and Indiana.
- This is a paid, part-time internship.
- Please note that this position is funded through personal fundraising, and compensation is dependent on the ability to secure a donor team.
