About the role#
The Social Media Intern will work with the Development Team to support the International Rescue Committee in New York and New Jersey. This role focuses on growing a social media presence to improve awareness, drive fundraising, and reach new audiences. This is an unpaid, full-time internship with rolling applications.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Development Team to promote organizational work in New York and New Jersey.
- Create engaging content for major platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Brainstorm ideas for social media projects and opportunities.
- Schedule content for publication at optimal times.
- Monitor social media channels and activities.
- Curate content for events, campaigns, and other projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or master's program, or graduation from a post-secondary institution within the last 2 years.
- Preferred fields of study include Communications, Public Health, Marketing, Sociology, or Business Administration.
- Experience working with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Familiarity with graphic design software or content creation tools.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to work in person in New York City or Elizabeth, New Jersey, at least 1 day per week.
