About the role#
The Social Media Intern will work with the Development Team in New York and New Jersey. This role focuses on growing the organization's social media presence to increase awareness, support fundraising efforts, and reach new audiences. This is an unpaid, full-time internship position with rolling admissions.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Development Team to promote IRC programs and initiatives in New York and New Jersey.
- Create engaging content for major social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Brainstorm ideas for new social media projects and engagement opportunities.
- Schedule content for publication at optimal times.
- Monitor social media channels and activities to maintain active engagement.
- Curate content for events, campaigns, and special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or master's program, or graduation from a post-secondary institution within the last 2 years.
- Academic background in Communications, Public Health, Marketing, Sociology, or Business Administration is encouraged.
- Demonstrated experience using Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Familiarity with graphic design software or content creation tools.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to work on-site in New York City or Elizabeth, New Jersey, at least 1 day per week.
