    About the role#

    The Resource Development and Grants Intern will support the International Rescue Committee in Charlottesville during the Fall 2026 term. This internship provides exposure to the grant lifecycle, including prospecting and the writing process. You will work under the supervision of the Development and Grants Coordinator to support our local services for refugees and new arrivals.

    What you'll do#

    • Attend the initial intern orientation.
    • Research potential donor prospects.
    • Assist with donor outreach, relations, and cultivation efforts.
    • Support the administrative side of proposal development.
    • Help draft and organize grant proposals.
    • Record and submit monthly hours via the online volunteer dashboard.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Communications, or Sociology.
    • Strong research and writing skills.
    • Ability to work independently and demonstrate resourcefulness.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel.
    • A reliable, professional, and punctual approach to your work.

    • Term: Fall 2026.
    • Modality: This is an on-site, unpaid internship.
    • Full-time availability is required.
