    About the role#

    The Development Intern supports the International Rescue Committee in New York and New Jersey. You will work with the Development Team to raise funds for local programs, engage potential donors, and build community connections. This role offers experience in private fundraising, including prospecting, grant management, and donor communications.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the Development Team in raising funds for IRC programs.
    • Maintain and update the client story catalog in line with the Development Storytelling Strategy.
    • Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns.
    • Track RSVPs and provide support for event planning and day-of operations.
    • Prepare deliverable sheets and maintain the grant tracker.
    • Perform administrative tasks as needed, including bi-weekly in-person work at the New York City office.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary institution or graduation within the last 2 years.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Experience with fundraising strategies.
    • Knowledge of grants management.
    • Ability to maintain and update a catalog of client stories.
    • Majors in Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, Political Science, or Sociology are preferred.
