About the role#
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Client Data & Outreach Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role focuses on supporting refugee resettlement and self-sufficiency initiatives by managing client data and facilitating outreach efforts. This is an unpaid, on-site internship based in Charlottesville, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Conduct outreach to inform clients of available services and opportunities while confirming contact information.
- Update client information within internal systems and document activities in case files.
- Consolidate and organize service delivery data into spreadsheets and databases for programmatic evaluation.
- Provide support to clients in addressing barriers to self-sufficiency, such as childcare, transportation, or language needs.
- Track employment placements and progress.
- Assist with developing service opportunities for clients in new programming.
- Research potential job openings, conduct employment assessments, and help create resumes and cover letters.
- Transport clients to employment-related activities as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, or status as a recent graduate.
- Academic background in Human Resources, Psychology, Communications, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills for engaging clients in a counseling or coaching capacity.
- Comfort working with individuals from diverse, global backgrounds.
- Willingness to transport clients using a personal vehicle.
