About the role#
As a Process Integration and Yield Engineering PhD Intern at Intel, you will work on the development and optimization of manufacturing processes. You will help improve integration flows, manage defect strategies, and increase yields in high-volume production. This role involves working with engineering teams to solve technical problems and drive continuous improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the development and optimization of module processes and integration flows.
- Analyze defect data, conduct experiments, and assist in risk assessments to support yield improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot process flow issues and optimize metrology strategies.
- Use data analysis techniques to improve process performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance production quality and output.
- Engage in hands-on projects to support business goals and explore future career opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Active pursuit of a PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemistry.
- Proficiency in microscopy techniques.
- Background in circuit design and semiconductor device physics.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python or comparable programming languages.
- Understanding of scan methodologies and automatic test pattern generation.
- Preference is given to 2nd or 3rd-year PhD candidates.
- Preferred coursework includes computer science, solid-state physics, semiconductor physics, electronics, or silicon process technologies.
- Familiarity with image analysis software and visual computing systems is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes or engineering tools is preferred.
- Proficiency with data analysis platforms such as JMP, Python, or MATLAB is preferred.
