About the role#
This internship provides practical experience within the R&D team. You will work on projects that support operations while building your skills for future employment. The role operates on a full-time basis for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, analyze, and document product designs for Service Low Voltage Retrofit Markets.
- Work in an Agile environment by pulling backlog items and meeting acceptance criteria.
- Create and maintain User stories in Azure DevOps.
- Use PTC Creo and Windchill software to create models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
- Prepare product documentation, instruction manuals, and project notebooks.
- Learn about regulatory standards including UL, CSA, and NEC.
- Participate in design reviews to analyze concepts and cost effectiveness.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with purchasing and manufacturing teams.
- Present technical material for reviews regarding drawings, bill of materials, and failure root cause analysis.
- Seek regular feedback from your manager and team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program for Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering in the United States.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and develop solutions using critical thinking.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high quality standards.
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate with team members to share information and project updates.
Location & details#
- Location: Bloomfield, Connecticut.
- Modality: On-site and hybrid.
- Compensation: $20 to $34 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
