About the role#
As a Ticket Sales Representative Intern, you will support the Indianapolis Motor Speedway by selling tickets for events including the INDYCAR Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500, and Brickyard Weekend. You will engage directly with fans, build relationships, and help reach sales goals through both inbound and outbound efforts. This position runs from December 2026 through July 2027.
What you'll do#
- Make up to 400 calls per week, including incoming, outgoing, and follow-up outreach.
- Generate revenue and drive event attendance to meet individual and team goals.
- Communicate clearly about IMS facilities, events, products, and processes.
- Follow established telephone presentations and group sales approaches.
- Process ticket orders and payments using the IMS computer system.
- Manage customer lead data using CRM software.
- Handle cash, check, and credit card payments with accuracy.
- Maintain confidential customer and business information.
- Staff and operate remote ticket locations during events.
- Complete other projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university, with a preference for majors in Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a creative, enthusiastic approach.
- Ability to work as a self-starter who is professional, organized, and self-motivated.
- Commitment to teamwork, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
- Availability to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
