About the role#
This unpaid internship offers a hands-on, educational experience within a Division I athletic department. You will work alongside full-time staff to gain exposure to the research, planning, and operational aspects of supporting 30 varsity programs. The program focuses on your professional development and career exploration in the sports industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Deputy Athletics Director with research for ongoing projects.
- Learn how staff develop operational plans for athletics events.
- Review peer university athletics websites to identify best practices.
- Help identify concepts to improve information shared on the official athletics website.
What you'll need#
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- You must be a current college student or enrolled by September 2026 and provide proof of enrollment.
- Strong interest in college athletics, sports, communications, marketing, ticketing, or broadcast industries.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a multi-task setting.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills plus strong listening skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Comfort with conducting online research.
- Flexibility to participate in learning experiences during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Initiative, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Marketing, and Communications.
