About the role#
As a Social Media Intern, you will support the IMS social team with the daily management of official channels. You will help bring our social strategy to life through content creation, community engagement, and fan growth initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in a professional motorsports environment, working under the guidance of the Director of Digital Marketing and the Social Media Specialist.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily social publishing, content tracking, and the implementation of social strategy.
- Provide coverage for all IMS race weekends during the 2027 season, including INDYCAR, NASCAR, and IMSA events.
- Co-lead content strategy and creation for the Coors Light Snake Pit social media channels.
- Identify trends and opportunities for community engagement by monitoring social conversations.
- Create social content, including photography, graphics, and short-form video, while writing copy for assigned posts.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging platforms.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, Sports Management, or Sports Media.
- Experience in social, digital, marketing, or content roles.
- Understanding of major social platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and social listening or analytics tools.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and meet short deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a diverse environment.
- A proactive, organized, and flexible approach to teamwork.
- Commitment to maintaining high levels of integrity and confidentiality.
Location & details#
- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Modality: On-site.
- Duration: February 2027 through September 2027.
- Schedule: Requires a minimum of 15 hours per week during the spring and 30 hours per week for the remainder of the term. Weekend and holiday work is required during race events.
- This is a paid, part-time internship.
