About the role#
The Public Relations Intern assists our team in developing and implementing media strategies at the local, regional, and national levels. You will gain hands-on experience in corporate communications and sports operations while supporting the daily functions of the department.
What you'll do#
- Create media materials such as press releases, fact sheets, and media alerts.
- Monitor, track, and analyze media coverage to build weekly and quarterly reports.
- Research industry trends and identify new award opportunities.
- Develop and pitch feature ideas to media outlets.
- Assist with interview preparation by drafting strategic messaging and background documents.
- Write stories for internal and external audiences.
- Maintain and update media and influencer outreach lists.
- Provide on-site support at club events and matchdays.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Academic or professional interest in corporate communications, public relations, or sports management.
- Previous experience in communications, marketing, or the sports and entertainment industries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write in AP style.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of the local sports and media environment.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and discretion regarding confidential information.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
Location & details#
- Location: St. Louis, Missouri.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 20 to 30 hours per week during regular business hours, with the requirement to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Majors: Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration.
