About the role#
The Social Media Intern supports the Digital Team for the Capital City Go-Go. This role offers hands-on experience in the sports industry for students or recent graduates interested in digital media. You will work 25 hours per week from September 2026 to May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the ideation, planning, and creation of social media content.
- Collaborate with the Digital Media Team to implement content strategy.
- Draft, schedule, and publish posts across social media platforms.
- Monitor trends to identify new content opportunities.
- Capture real-time photo and video content at games and community events.
- Pull analytics reports for major events.
- Help maintain the content calendar and organize digital assets.
- Coordinate with team members on daily tasks and handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Status as a current undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate.
- Experience in social media publishing for a brand, team, or company.
- Proficiency in shooting and editing video for social media.
- Deep understanding of TikTok and Reels editing styles.
- Experience with Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
- Previous experience with photography.
- Knowledge of NBA players and teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Majors in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, or related fields.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Availability to work most Capital City Go-Go games, plus flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Compensation: This is a paid position at $18.40 per hour.
