About the role#
The Baseball Video and Operations Intern for Winter 2027 will support the collection, analysis, and communication of player data and video across pitching and hitting departments. This 12-week role focuses on assisting with game and practice video, supporting player development initiatives, and contributing to internal reporting and technology management.
What you'll do#
- Schedule practices and games through Playsight and ensure proper coverage.
- Assist with the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of baseball technology including Trackman, Blast, and Edgertronic.
- Collect, organize, and upload video and performance data.
- Manage the video archive and upload game footage into Synergy.
- Record, clip, and edit video for recruiting, player development, and social media content.
- Edit video clips as requested by coaches, players, or parents.
- Create and maintain graphics using collected data to show trends.
- Standardize data communication for athletes and staff.
- Maintain camera equipment and support the upkeep of training facilities.
- Operate Trackman and video during bullpens, practices, and intrasquad games.
- Monitor pitching trends like velocity, movement, and release height.
- Generate progress reports using bullpen sheets and Trackman data.
- Operate portable Trackman and Blast during batting practice and cage sessions.
- Track swing metrics and tag live game data.
- Collect and edit high-speed video for hitter development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university.
- Experience playing or working in baseball at the collegiate, professional, or elite amateur level.
- Familiarity with advanced baseball technology and analytics platforms such as Trackman, Blast, and Synergy.
- Understanding of baseball fundamentals and player development concepts.
- Basic knowledge of video setup and handling for camcorders and high-speed cameras.
- Strong communication, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Interest in a career in player development, baseball operations, or analytics.
- Experience with Edgertronic systems, video editing software like Adobe Premiere, or tagging software like BATS is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Bradenton, Florida.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug test, including a Florida Level 2 Background Screening.
