About the role#
The Consumer Engagement Intern joins the Illinois Center for Agricultural Engagement in Bloomington. This role helps build awareness and understanding of farming practices among non-farming audiences. You will work on projects that support local engagement efforts and gain experience by collaborating with team members across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Research and write content for consumer-facing materials.
- Develop frameworks for consumer engagement events.
- Attend events across Illinois to support outreach efforts.
- Assist with Illinois Farm Families projects.
- Provide general support for Illinois Center for Agricultural Engagement programs.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in agricultural communications or a related field.
- Graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Ability to work full-time from late May 2027 through early August 2027.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of Illinois agriculture and modern farming practices.
- Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented work habits.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Canva is preferred.
- Familiarity with social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok is preferred.
- Knowledge of AP style is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Bloomington, Illinois.
- The internship may be extended into the Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 terms on a part-time basis.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
