About the role#
Viking Pump, a unit of IDEX Corporation, is hiring a Design Engineering Co-Op for our Biopharma project group. This is a full-time position based in Cedar Falls, Iowa, running from January 2027 through August 2027. You will work directly with our engineering team to support product development and growth initiatives in the biopharma segment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international project teams.
- Support New Product Development efforts specifically for the biopharma segment.
- Assist with testing and data analysis of new product prototypes.
- Conduct project research using simulations and documentation.
- Create and update models and drawings using SolidWorks.
- Maintain part numbers and Bills of Material within our ERP system.
- Gain hands-on experience with additive manufacturing and 3D scanning technology.
- Perform engineering calculations and assist with technical documentation.
- Take on other engineering projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 in your major.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A self-guided approach to learning and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- SolidWorks experience is a plus.
