    About the role#

    The Mechanical Engineer Intern provides hands-on support to the engineering team in a manufacturing environment. You will gain practical experience with product design, testing, documentation, and manufacturing processes. This role involves working closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist engineers with product design, development, and improvement projects.
    • Create and update engineering drawings, models, and documentation using CAD software.
    • Support engineering change requests by updating bills of material, drawings, and related records.
    • Help with prototype builds, product testing, and validation activities.
    • Collect and analyze engineering test data, then prepare summaries of your findings.
    • Support research and development through data gathering and documentation.
    • Create and maintain work instructions, test procedures, and technical documentation.
    • Participate in design reviews and problem-solving activities.
    • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support production needs.
    • Assist with First Article Inspection and component qualification tasks.
    • Maintain accurate engineering records and support document control processes.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • A basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
    • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo is preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic Microsoft Office tools.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work well in a team environment.

    • This position is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
    • Work is on-site.
    • This is a part-time, paid internship.
    • The role is a temporary assignment, typically aligned with an academic semester.
