About the role#
As a Cybersecurity Operations Support Intern, you will work with the High Performance Computing team to maintain secure operations for Linux-based environments. You will assist with vulnerability mitigation and help ensure the security of critical systems. This role is based at our Idaho Falls campus and follows a 9x80 work schedule.
What you'll do#
- Research relevant CVEs and prioritize vulnerabilities based on actual system exposure.
- Support patching and mitigation efforts.
- Document findings for HPC system administrators and security staff.
- Perform tasks such as scripting, Git-based documentation, configuration management, or security log analysis based on your skills and interests.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in an Undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
- A major in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Network and Security Administration, or Information Systems.
- A minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT).
- Coursework in areas such as operating systems, servers, networks, systems security, cloud computing, intrusion detection, digital forensics, or cryptography.
- Ability to provide a current resume, unofficial transcripts, and a current class schedule.

- Compensation: Undergraduate interns earn between $26.94 and $32.41 per hour.
- Benefits: Paid holiday time off and potential travel reimbursement for eligible interns.
- Physical requirements: Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, and use hands for equipment, with the capacity to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
