About the role#
Reporting to the Cyber Operations and Incident Response team, this internship offers the opportunity to work on high-risk computer networks. You will participate in the conceptualization and development of custom code for analyzing network traffic and proprietary protocols. You will also develop attack and defense methodologies.

What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time undergraduate (freshman-senior), Masters, or PhD student at an accredited college or university.
- A major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cyber Operations, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship provided).
- A demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
- Ability to comply with DOE O 142.3B, Unclassified Foreign National Access Program.
- Required documents: current resume or CV, unofficial transcripts, and a current class schedule with credit count.
Location & details#
- Location: Idaho Falls, ID (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: 9x80 work schedule.
- Compensation: Paid internship with rates varying by education level ($26.94 to $41.29 per hour).
- Benefits: Paid holiday time off and potential travel reimbursement for eligible interns.
- Physical requirements: Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and use hands for typing and equipment operation. Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds.
