About the role#
The Procurement Services Program Internship focuses on providing goods and services to the scientists, engineers, and organizations at Argonne National Laboratory. This role supports the timely and economical acquisition of products and services required for scientific and operational success. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Create and manage purchase orders for the laboratory using proprietary contract administration software.
- Contact suppliers to confirm pricing, follow up on past due orders, and manage the closing of contracts.
- Support procurement staff in resolving vendor transaction exceptions within Workday.
- Assist laboratory staff with expediting procurement actions.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with both laboratory staff and external suppliers.
What you'll need#
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution, having completed at least one semester of schooling.
- Completed at least two years of undergraduate academics in a business-related program.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to negotiate between large-scale project goals and individual work assignments.
- Relevant majors include Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or Finance.

- This position is available on-site in Lemont, Illinois, or remotely.
- The internship follows a rolling term schedule.
- Offers are contingent upon a background check and a screening drug test.
