The Procurement Services Program Internship focuses on providing goods and services to the scientists, engineers, and organizations at Argonne National Laboratory. This role facilitates the timely and economical acquisition of standard and complex products required for laboratory operations. You will work within a team that emphasizes transparency and collaboration while gaining exposure to business disciplines such as accounting, finance, and management information systems.
What you'll do#
- Use proprietary contract administration software to create and manage purchase orders.
- Support laboratory staff by expediting procurement actions.
- Contact suppliers to confirm pricing, follow up on past-due orders, and manage the closing of contracts.
- Assist procurement staff in resolving vendor transaction exceptions in Workday.
- Communicate effectively with internal laboratory staff and external suppliers.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment at an accredited institution, with at least one semester completed by the start of the program.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate academics in a business-related program.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to negotiate between large-scale project goals and individual work assignments.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
- Eligible majors include Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, and Finance.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Work modality includes both on-site and remote options.
- The hiring range for this position is $18.08 – $39.17 per hour.
- Offers are contingent upon a background check and a screening drug test.
- Roles may require obtaining government access authorization.
