About the role#
As a User Experience Design Intern, you will work within a team to build digital experiences. You will collaborate with product managers, developers, and other designers to solve complex problems. This is a paid, full-time internship that offers the chance to apply design thinking and user-centered methodologies in an enterprise environment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with designers on projects from initial concept through implementation.
- Create wireframes, mockups, user flows, and prototypes to share design ideas.
- Assist with user research, including conducting interviews, usability testing, and synthesizing findings.
- Participate in design workshops and brainstorming sessions.
- Use AI tools like IBM Bob, Claude, or Copilot to support ideation and prototyping.
- Explore how AI technologies can improve product experiences.
- Contribute to design systems and accessibility initiatives.
- Present your work to stakeholders and peers, and refine your designs based on feedback.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, Graphic Design, Psychology, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field.
- A portfolio showing your coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or previous internships.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or Sketch.
- Basic knowledge of user research methods, usability principles, and inclusive design.
- Curiosity about artificial intelligence, conversational interfaces, and intelligent systems.
- Strong visual, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A growth mindset and a willingness to learn from feedback.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Austin, Texas.
- You will work in a hybrid capacity, with an expectation to be onsite 3 days per week.
- The internship term is on a rolling basis.
